Director of OSP/ISP Construction

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $175,000–$210,000 base salary per year plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the OSP/ISP construction strategy supporting data center expansion and long-term infrastructure capacity.
• Direct the full project lifecycle from route design and permitting through construction, fiber deployment, and final turnover.
• Select, negotiate with, and manage construction partners and ISPs, holding vendors accountable for safety, cost, quality, and schedule.
• Partner with Network Engineering, GIS, and Data Center teams on designs, system integration, and build documentation.
• Own multi-million-dollar construction budgets, forecast expenditures, and manage cost-to-completion and change orders.
• Oversee conduit, structured cabling, and fiber installations while ensuring compliance with OSHA protocols and construction codes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience leading telecommunications infrastructure or OSP/ISP construction at director or senior management level.
• Proven experience building complex fiber networks, conduit systems, and aerial or underground routes for data center environments.
• Extensive experience with municipal, public utility, and regional permitting processes.
• Expert knowledge of OSP/ISP standards, fiber optic systems, DWDM, IP transport, and network architecture.
• Advanced proficiency with GIS, CAD, and project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field required.

Nice to have

• PMP or RCDD certification.
• OSHA 30 or specialized FOA fiber certification.
• Experience leading network construction for cloud service providers or hyperscale data center operators.
• Interest in integrating sustainable practices into construction and telecommunications workflows.
