TL;DR

Focus on analyzing electromagnetic compatibility, conducting RF measurements and interference investigations, preparing frequency allocation documentation, and coordinating spectrum support across military and government stakeholders.

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States. Hybrid work within the Eastern time zone, with expected hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. Travel to the Pentagon in Arlington is required once per month.

Salary: $105,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

  • Provide senior-level spectrum engineering and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects support for complex Department of Defense systems and operations.
  • Perform EMI/EMC, RADHAZ, RF propagation, spectrum compatibility, and E3 analyses for operational, acquisition, testing, and engineering requirements.
  • Conduct RF measurements, collect and interpret data, investigate interference, and validate engineering assessments.
  • Support spectrum certification, frequency allocation, frequency assignment, and international host-nation coordination throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering assessments, briefings, DD Form 1494 documentation, and spectrum-supportability materials.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship while coordinating with engineering, acquisition, operational, military, federal, local, and spectrum-management stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, RF Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in spectrum engineering, E3, EMI/EMC, RF engineering, frequency management, or DoD communications and electronics engineering.
  • Knowledge of E3 principles, RF system characteristics, DoD and federal spectrum-management processes, and applicable standards and policies.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC, RADHAZ, RF propagation, interference, spectrum compatibility, RF measurements, spectrum certification, and frequency allocation or assignment.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting DD Form 1494 frequency allocation applications.
  • Active secret clearance is required as specified by the government contract.
