TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Nuclear PCB Systems): Building high-reliability, low-noise multilayer PCBs and mixed-signal reactor control systems with an accent on analog front ends, high-speed interfaces, power distribution, and signal integrity. Focus on defining electrical architecture, bringing up and validating hardware, and solving complex EMI/EMC, environmental reliability, and hardware/software integration challenges.
Location: 100% onsite at the El Segundo, California headquarters, United States. Extended hours and weekend work may be required.
Annual salary: $158,000–$172,725, plus equity.

is a startup developing portable, factory-built nuclear microreactors for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases.
What you will do
- Own the design and development of multilayer PCBs for reactor control and instrumentation systems.
- Define mixed-signal electrical architecture, including power distribution, analog front ends, ADC/DAC integration, and digital control interfaces.
- Design and review high-speed and precision layouts with attention to signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Bring up, debug, and validate hardware using board-level testing and laboratory instrumentation.
- Create and execute hardware validation and qualification plans for performance, reliability, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with firmware, FPGA, DSP, and systems engineering teams on hardware/software integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing custom multilayer and mixed-signal PCBs.
- Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium or Cadence.
- Experience with analog design, sensor interfaces, ADC/DAC integration, low-noise circuits, and high-speed interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, or Ethernet.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in El Segundo and work extended hours or weekends when necessary.
Nice to have
- Experience with nuclear, aerospace, defense, industrial, or other high-reliability and harsh-environment systems.
- Familiarity with radiation effects and radiation-tolerant electronics.
- Experience with power electronics, FPGA or embedded systems, nuclear instrumentation, DFM, DFT, or production bring-up.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
