Strategic Sourcing Category Specialist, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX)

Location: Hybrid in St. Paul or Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, USA

Salary: $75,000–$89,000 per year

What you will do

• Execute sourcing activities for capital equipment and CAPEX projects, including RFQs, supplier evaluation, and negotiations.
• Support category management activities aligned with business needs, cost objectives, and supply continuity.
• Analyze sourcing, pricing, and supplier data to identify cost savings and risk mitigation opportunities.
• Track category and supplier performance metrics and support reporting.
• Maintain accurate pricing, contract, and supplier information in ERP and sourcing systems.
• Improve sourcing processes, tools, and workflows while supporting invoice discrepancy resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
• Proficiency in data analysis, problem solving, written communication, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement tools, or related business systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with RFQs, supplier evaluation, or commercial discussions for CAPEX projects.
• Equipment sourcing experience and exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Understanding of cost drivers and total cost of ownership concepts.
• Experience collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Finance, or similar functions.
• Additional language capability, such as Spanish.
