Associate Strategic Sourcing Category Manager (Construction/CAPEX)

Location: Hybrid position based in West Hills, California, with a minimum in-office requirement aligned to business needs. Occasional visits to manufacturing and construction sites are required, along with out-of-state or international travel of up to 10%.

Salary: $88,000–$146,000 annual target base pay for candidates in California and the New York metropolitan area. The national target base pay range is $80,000–$133,000.

What you will do

• Manage more than $9 million annually in capital construction and engineering services sourcing.
• Lead end-to-end RFx processes, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.
• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with capital plans, project timelines, and total cost of ownership.
• Analyze pricing, markets, suppliers, savings, cost avoidance, and value creation.
• Manage supplier relationships through QBRs, KPIs, performance scorecards, and improvement plans.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, EHS, Quality, and Project Management on capital project execution and sourcing governance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, with 2 or more years of CAPEX experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred; an MBA is also preferred.
• Experience managing indirect sourcing categories, medium- to high-complexity RFx events, supplier negotiations, and supplier risk mitigation.
• Experience negotiating Master Service Agreements, Equipment Purchase Agreements, Statements of Work, and preferably construction and engineering services agreements.
• Strong project management, analytical, stakeholder influencing, communication, Excel, PowerPoint, and sourcing analytics skills.
• U.S. work authorization is required; immigration sponsorship and support, including STEM OPT Form I-983 support, are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in CPG, pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, or another regulated industry.
• Experience developing preferred supplier models for general contractors, engineering firms, specialty trades, and professional services providers.
• MBA degree.
