Senior Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Salary: $220,500–$298,500 base pay annually, with potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Identify and resolve cross-cutting technical problems across payment protocols, edge AI, and trust infrastructure.
• Set technical direction and drive architectural evolution from validated concepts to shipped products.
• Make foundational architecture decisions while enabling fast, reversible experimentation.
• Ensure customer-facing deliverables are strategically viable and defensible in the fintech market.
• Present technical strategy and engineering proof points to senior leadership, business development, legal, compliance, and product stakeholders.
• Design experiment-flagged solutions with defined hypotheses, success metrics, and kill criteria.

Requirements

• 10+ years developing software systems for large business environments, including 7+ years designing complex distributed systems or platforms.
• Experience setting technical direction for sizable organizations and driving architectural evolution across interdependent efforts.
• Deep fluency in AI-native architecture, agent orchestration, payments or settlement, edge AI, and identity or trust infrastructure.
• Working fluency with Java, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, plus Kubernetes-based runtime architecture such as AWS EKS.
• Experience designing and running A/B tests, canary releases, or feature-flagged rollouts to validate technical decisions.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; strong communication, mentoring, and cross-functional leadership skills.
