Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Palo Alto, California; in-office collaboration 3 days per week

Base salary: $247,500–$267,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and evolve architecture for AI-driven, multimodal content personalization.
• Solve complex architectural challenges involving LLMs and enterprise-grade content generation.
• Evaluate and integrate AI technologies while optimizing cost, latency, and output quality.
• Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives across multiple teams and product areas.
• Translate enterprise customer requirements into scalable, high-impact solutions.
• Mentor engineers and champion engineering practices covering code quality, CI/CD, observability, security, reliability, and compliance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a principal- or staff-level individual contributor role.
• Experience architecting distributed systems, AI/ML platforms, or large-scale SaaS applications.
• Strong cloud-native architecture experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern API design.
• Expertise in LLMs, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and inference.
• Experience with multimodal AI across text, image, video, and audio, plus strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
