Staff Software Engineer, Frontend Web UI Platform (React)

Salary: USD $140,400–$372,300 per year, plus potential bonus, stock, and other rewards.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of the web UI platform across performance, accessibility, consistency, and availability.
• Lead large cross-team frontend initiatives and migrations while minimizing disruption to active product development.
• Establish frontend patterns, standards, and paved paths that scale across multiple engineering teams.
• Prepare architecture and design proposals, evaluate trade-offs, and align engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing.
• Represent frontend platform priorities to leadership and secure the resources needed for delivery.

Requirements

• At least 9 years of relevant software engineering or related technical experience, or equivalent experience; alternatives include specified degrees with 3–8+ years of experience.
• Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software.
• Experience with one or more production programming languages, including JavaScript, C, C++, C#, Java, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Deep knowledge of React or Angular internals and server-side rendering.
• Strong understanding of web platform fundamentals, browser APIs, accessibility standards, TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing frontend systems in large, multi-team codebases.
• Track record of improving Core Web Vitals, interaction latency, and bundle size through data-driven work.
• Experience leading frontend migrations, sequencing rollouts, managing deprecation, and enabling incremental adoption.
• Experience building design systems, shared component libraries, or platform tooling adopted by many teams.
