Senior Director of Build (Fusion Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Everett, Washington, United States; the role also oversees building the first fusion power plant in Malaga, Washington.

Salary: $249,000–$291,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead the Build Team across Integration, Magnet Assembly, Fabrication, and Machining.
• Develop and execute production organization goals aligned with company strategy.
• Mentor production managers and supervisors on workforce planning, work-center design, hiring, training, milestones, production rates, and performance management.
• Build machine shop capabilities, including mills, lathes, water jets, and dimensional inspection.
• Establish operating processes with Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials, Logistics, Inventory, Contracting, and Program Management.
• Oversee manufacturing strategy, contract manufacturing partnerships, generator construction, commissioning, and field service capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in advanced manufacturing, industrial production, energy, aerospace, heavy equipment, or complex capital equipment.
• Experience building and scaling engineering and manufacturing organizations from rapid hardware prototyping through high-volume, rate-based production.
• Experience leading end-to-end engineering and manufacturing programs and driving operational growth.
• Strong cross-functional leadership in production planning, capacity management, supply chain, engineering, logistics, materials, inventory, and contracting.
• Technical and business expertise in CapEx, manufacturing costs, productivity, and KPIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
