Engineering Manager (Distributed Systems)

What you will do

• Lead a group of approximately 8 engineers across product and infrastructure teams.
• Deliver customer-facing platform components including console, APIs, CLI/SDK, serverless, clusters, billing, and marketplace engine.
• Partner with recruiting to hire and onboard senior engineers, owning hiring outcomes.
• Maintain engineering quality through code reviews, CI, test coverage, incident response, and sustainable on-call rotations.
• Develop engineers into senior and lead roles, fostering team growth.
• Execute technical direction and product priorities into shipped software with minimal process.

Requirements

• Location: Must work onsite in San Francisco or Los Angeles
• 10+ years software development experience with depth in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, GPU/ML systems, or high-throughput backend platforms.
• 5+ years engineering management experience including hiring, performance management, and team building.
• Hands-on coding with daily code reviews and shipping.
• Strong communication skills with direct and kind feedback.
• Pragmatic approach to process, adding structure only to increase shipping speed.

Nice to have

• Experience in marketplace or infrastructure companies.
• Familiarity with CUDA/GPU stack.
• Open-source contributions.
