SolidWorks/PDM Administrator & Designer - Group (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Montréal, Canada; permanent hybrid role

What you will do

• Administer and configure PDM, manage SolidWorks updates and deployment, and optimize the SolidWorks/PDM environment.
• Assess and improve vault performance while resolving PDM and SolidWorks bugs, crashes, check-in issues, and configuration problems.
• Implement and improve PDM workflows, file cards, folder cards, variables, templates, databases, and libraries.
• Define and document design, drafting, storage, and data-safety rules for large parts and assemblies.
• Create macros, progress reports, recommendations, user guides, and training materials, and conduct user training.
• Design and modify mechanical structures, equipment, and interior fittings for rolling stock; produce 3D layouts and manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in SolidWorks/PDM administration.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D and drawings, PDM, and Microsoft 365.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in both French and English are required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under demanding deadlines and changing priorities.
• Ability to ensure design changes comply with company standards, data-safety requirements, applicable standards, and design best practices.
