What you will do

• Execute mechanical stress and strain analysis using analytical methods and engineering software.
• Collaborate with hydraulic design engineers and project teams to develop turbine designs within technical and cost specifications.
• Create technical specifications and engineering instructions according to internal design protocols and industry requirements.
• Apply advanced techniques including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), vibration analysis, fatigue analysis, and fracture mechanics.
• Provide technical support for the manufacturing and installation of hydraulic turbines.
• Participate in root cause analysis, design reviews, and the maintenance of design tools.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer registration with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 5 years of experience in stress calculation and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• Legal work status in Canada.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in sciences or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of hydroelectric turbines and their components.
• Experience in mechanical design and 3D modelling using Siemens NX, Catia, or Solidworks.
• Experience in mechanical design and rehabilitation for welded components in heavy/rotating industry.
• Proficiency in VBA, Python, or Ansys Mechanical APDL.
