What you will do

• Review, analyze, and evaluate complex commercial real estate appraisals and valuations for commercial loans.
• Assess valuation methodologies, assumptions, market data, and compliance with federal regulations, bank policy, FIRREA, and USPAP.
• Resolve appraisal deficiencies and valuation disagreements with vendors, lenders, and managers.
• Prepare appraisal reviews and internal evaluations, including market analysis and recommendations for modified appraised values.
• Support property inspections, commercial loan risk analysis, vendor selection, fee negotiations, and appraisal policy development.
• Provide market intelligence, policy guidance, and coaching or training for appraisal staff and lending teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience.
• State appraiser certification required; Connecticut and New York certification required.
• Expert knowledge of commercial real estate appraisal and valuation principles, including income capitalization methods and residential subdivision experience.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate legal and regulatory requirements, including FIRREA and USPAP.
• Strong analytical, evaluative, communication, negotiation, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to resolve appraisal issues under pressure and provide customer service to internal and external customers.

Nice to have

• MAI designation or equivalent experience.
• Experience reviewing office, mixed-use, industrial, multifamily, special-purpose, data center, and portfolio assignments.
• Proficiency with ARGUS and RIMS.
• Banking experience and knowledge of lending, credit, portfolio management, and syndications.
• Expertise in the Connecticut and Westchester real estate market.
