CNC Machinist III (Defense Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and complex 5-axis and 6-axis machining centers.
• Produce hubs, impellers, CPP propellers, and other components from engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.
• Select tooling, adjust offsets, verify machine parameters, and interpret GD&T requirements.
• Perform quality checks with micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM equipment, and other precision instruments.
• Complete deburring, polishing, grinding, production documentation, and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality control, supervisors, and machinists to resolve production issues.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or CNC Machining Technology certification from a two-year program, plus a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of machinist experience and knowledge of machining fundamentals, G-code, M-code, and shop mathematics.
• Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T specifications and use precision inspection tools.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for defense contract work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Ability to wear PPE, stand for extended periods, perform physical work, and lift up to 55 pounds.

Nice to have

• Defense manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Fanuc or Siemens CNC controls.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or TPM principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
