Lathe Machinist II - Mazak (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, New York, United States. The role involves access to U.S. export-controlled information and requires participation in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.

Salary: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential for 3rd shift employees. Eligible candidates may receive a $3,500 sign-on bonus under the stated application and bonus-agreement terms.

What you will do

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes to manufacture precision components from blueprints.
• Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and setups for new and existing jobs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
• Inspect completed parts with precision measuring instruments and verify dimensional compliance.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust processes, and troubleshoot machining or tooling issues.
• Maintain production records and follow safety and quality procedures while collaborating with leadership and engineering.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a CNC lathe machinist working with lathe machines with mill capabilities.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer-based work instructions or training in English.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Working knowledge of G-Code is preferred; knowledge of Fanuc controls is advantageous.
• Participation in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required because the role is safety-sensitive.
• Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.
