Computer Scientist (Hardware and Software Testing)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information; applicants must provide documentation confirming U.S. person status.

Salary: $125,000–$219,000 per year

What you will do

• Test hardware capabilities and document performance for networked systems, including operational restrictions.
• Update firmware and validate configuration data across hardware, software, and networked systems.
• Conduct software testing, reproduce field issues in laboratory environments, and report bugs to development teams.
• Support installations, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic system administration across multiple hardware platforms and projects.
• Automate repetitive testing and configuration tasks using JavaScript, Python, and C#.
• Document testing procedures and results and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of relevant progressive experience in hardware and software testing, or 2 years with a master’s degree.
• Experience updating firmware, validating configuration information, and analyzing complex systems.
• Experience with system and network administration, troubleshooting, and secure networked environments.
• Proven scripting experience with JavaScript, Python, and C#.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and U.S. person status required for ITAR/EAR compliance.
