Structural Engineering Professional (Intermediate)

Location: Coraopolis, Pennsylvania 15108, United States; occasional field walks may require climbing ladders, accessing raised floors, and standing or walking for extended periods.

Salary: $83,200–$108,200 annually.

What you will do

• Perform structural analysis and design for traditional steel and reinforced-concrete structures under general supervision.
• Apply US building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC, with emphasis on wind and seismic lateral systems.
• Coordinate structural criteria and requirements with structural designers, BIM/CAD modelers, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil disciplines.
• Check personal work and perform calculation reviews for fellow engineers.
• Own assigned structural scope, track scope changes, forecast effort, and manage schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Provide periodic site and field support for project execution and facility evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Active Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• At least 2 years of professional structural engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of US building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
• Strong foundation in structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, proactive working style, commitment to quality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform occasional field walks, including climbing ladders, accessing raised floors, and standing or walking for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or a dedicated Master’s in Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, RAM, SAP2000, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing structures for industrial, advanced technology, or commercial sectors.
