Civil Structural Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Other listed locations include Huntington, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh/Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Approximately 10% travel may be required within the continental United States.

What you will do

• Plan, design, construct, and repair building and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, structural analyses, reports, and repair recommendations.
• Use structural analysis software and classical hand calculations to evaluate structural systems.
• Work with designers and drafters to produce construction drawings and specifications.
• Conduct field investigations and assessments of existing conditions.
• Provide construction-phase services, including submittal reviews and responses to contractor RFIs, while supporting project budgets and schedules.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university; a structural emphasis is preferred.
• EIT certification is required; PE licensure is a plus.
• Working knowledge of building codes, including state-specific codes, IBC, and ASCE.
• Working knowledge of STAAD Pro, Ram Elements, or RISA 3D is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk products such as CAD and Advanced Steel is preferred; experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structural systems is a plus.
