Supply Quality Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: 100% onsite at the El Segundo, California headquarters

Salary: $133,500–$190,050 per year, plus equity

hirify.global is a startup developing factory-built, portable nuclear microreactors, including the 1-megawatt Kaleidos reactor for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases.

What you will do

• Own supplier qualification and onboarding, including pre-assessments, capability reviews, audits, and Approved Supplier List approval.
• Develop and maintain quality clauses, commodity-specific requirements, supplier requirements, and the Supplier Quality Manual.
• Create supplier capability improvement plans, close process gaps, and track milestones before issues reach hirify.global.
• Build procurement assurance and acceptance frameworks covering purchase order requirements, certifications, material traceability, and compliance documentation.
• Execute supplier audits, manage findings through closure, and drive structured supplier performance improvements.
• Process deviations, non-conformance reports, corrective action requests, root cause analyses, and effectiveness verification in partnership with engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, materials science, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of supplier quality, supplier development, or supplier reliability experience in a regulated industry such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, or medical devices.
• Ability to independently process supplier quality transactions, purchase order quality reviews, and certification package reviews.
• Experience owning or drafting quality clauses, supplier requirements, inspection instructions, or equivalent documentation.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent quality management systems, including supplier audits and corrective action management.
• Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ and be willing to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• Nuclear industry experience or familiarity with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME BPVC Section III or VIII.
• Manufacturing process depth in machining, welding, casting, forming, special processes, or precision fabrication.
• NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification or progress toward certification, and ASME Section III Qualified Inspector status or equivalent progress.
• Exposure to ISO 17025 laboratories or third-party inspection bodies.
• Experience building or advancing processes at an early-stage company or program.
