Pathology Lab Coordinator I (AI)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. Assigned shifts are Wednesday–Saturday or Tuesday–Wednesday/Friday–Saturday, 9:00am–7:30pm.

Salary: $23.25 per hour in Illinois. Compensation may vary by location, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Coordinate clinical specimen testing workflows with pathologists and histotechnologists.
• Abstract clinical data accurately from patient documents.
• Support pathology review and immunohistochemistry review workflows.
• Act as a liaison between the Pathology team and other internal teams.
• Troubleshoot issues, audit sample progress, and reconcile laboratory specimens.
• Improve operational processes through creative thinking while following laboratory protocols.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree in Biological Science, including anatomy and/or molecular biology coursework.
• Prior pathology or histotechnology laboratory experience; anatomy experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is highly preferred.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, accuracy, interpersonal communication, and adaptability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer proficiency, including Mac OS, general office equipment and software, and strong note-taking or transcription skills.
