Lab Assistant I (Medical)

Location: Onsite in Austin, TX

Salary: $21 per hour

What you will do

• Receive and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory workflows to ensure timely turnaround.
• Assist licensed staff in preparing blood tubes and tissue samples for processing.
• Accurately enter patient data into the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).
• Manage physical and electronic sample storage, disposal, and shipment preparation.
• Maintain inventory of lab materials and ensure cleanliness of equipment and benches.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects using TAG and 5S methodologies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be based in Austin, TX.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training within 30 days of hire.

Nice to have

• Science-related degree.
• Less than 1 year of industry-related experience.
