Technical Specialist (Rotating Equipment)

Location: OH New Albany - Power Generation, United States. Field work may involve occasional travel between hirify.global locations with overnight stays, shift work, on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you will do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair compressors, turbines, pumps, high-speed reciprocating engines, and related rotating machinery.
• Lead or support maintenance planning and execution for mechanical systems, optimizing equipment performance and reliability.
• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements to extend the reliability and service life of rotating assets.
• Review engineering designs, contracts, and technical standards related to rotating equipment.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to maintain system integrity and maximize uptime.
• Support rotating equipment upgrades and new installations, maintain technical records, and train team members on diagnostics and maintenance practices.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of oil and gas industry experience focused on rotating equipment.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with compressors, turbines, and pumps.
• Organizational, interpersonal, safety, and operational excellence skills.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, loud environments, enclosed spaces, and at elevated levels; lift up to 50 lbs and use appropriate PPE.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in field operations, mechanical reliability, or rotating equipment maintenance.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, Allen Bradley systems, SCADA, vibration analysis, alignment tools, and condition monitoring systems.
