Maintenance Tech

TL;DR

Maintenance Tech (HVAC/Cell Therapy Manufacturing): Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, cleanroom, refrigeration, cryogenic, and process systems supporting cGMP cell therapy manufacturing with an accent on facility reliability, compliance, and equipment readiness. Focus on diagnosing complex electromechanical faults, maintaining validated systems and critical utilities, and supporting safe production during facility ramp-up and commercial operations.

Location: Onsite in Raritan, New Jersey, United States; modified second shift, approximately noon–8:30 p.m., with flexibility for other shifts and on-call support. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $83,711–$109,870 USD base pay annually, plus performance-based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC, cleanroom HVAC, refrigeration, clean steam, cryogenic storage, process equipment, and related mechanical utilities.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance, minor installations, upgrades, and equipment removals using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, electrical systems, controls, motors, switchgear, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and circuits up to 600 volts.
• Support cGMP manufacturing equipment projects, facility initiatives, reliability programs, asset management, and continuous improvement.
• Document work orders in the CMMS using good documentation practices and support deviations, investigations, OOTs, change controls, root cause analyses, and FMEAs.
• Maintain compliance with applicable FDA, EPA, OSHA, DEA, TSA, and other local, state, and federal requirements.

Requirements

• Trade or technical school certification, craft certification, or equivalent military training.
• At least 8 years of experience in industrial manufacturing or a regulated environment, ideally in cGMP cleanroom manufacturing under aseptic conditions.
• Proficiency in more than one trade or craft, with journeyman status in at least one craft.
• Experience with CMMS or a similar maintenance management system.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, cleanroom maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical theory, electromechanical systems, and validated equipment documentation.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, and authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industry.
• Experience working in controlled cleanroom environments under aseptic conditions.
• Experience with HVAC and cleanroom maintenance.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biological science, biochemical science, bioengineering, or a related field.
