Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 annually for roles performed from Illinois. Compensation may vary for California, Colorado, and New York.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end, platform-level workflows for technical data operations and diverse user roles.
• Design systems for ingesting, curating, structuring, and distributing molecular and clinical data.
• Contribute to the AI-enabled Next platform so clinical users receive precise, guideline-based data for patient care.
• Partner with product, engineering, operations, leadership, and other stakeholders to define problems, scope solutions, and influence roadmaps.
• Lead cross-functional workshops, clarify requirements, anticipate roadblocks, and drive initiatives spanning multiple teams.
• Set the end-to-end vision for design solutions, validate them through research, and mentor other designers.

Requirements

• Approximately 8+ years of experience in fast-paced creative environments.
• Exceptional product design skills with strong strategic and conceptual thinking.
• Experience designing for highly technical users such as data scientists, machine learning engineers, bioinformaticians, and translational researchers.
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality product design work and experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Proactive collaboration skills, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to align leaders across departments.
• Experience with Figma, Cursor, and comparable design tools.

Nice to have

• Healthcare industry experience or understanding of healthcare data challenges.
