Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY, United States

Salary: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift employees. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible applications submitted between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026.

What you will do

  • Grind complex aerospace components on cylindrical, internal, and surface grinders to close tolerances and high surface-finish requirements.
  • Perform setups, including chucking and aligning irregularly shaped parts and selecting wheels, speeds, feeds, and operating sequences.
  • Dress grinding wheels for form, taper, steps, straight, and unusual profiles.
  • Inspect completed work using air gages, Diatest, V-blocks, profilometers, angle plates, and electronic gauging equipment.
  • Identify defective materials, unusual conditions, deviating parts, and errors in operation sheets.
  • Plan work within the cell and help resolve production problems.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a grind machinist.
  • Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and written work instructions.
  • Ability to select and dress grinding wheels and produce parts according to drawing requirements.
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances, typically .001 +/- .0005, and apply GD&T principles.
  • Participation in the company’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required for safety-sensitive work. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; candidates must otherwise understand English work instructions and perform basic arithmetic.
