Senior Machinist (CNC)

Location: Onsite in Lakehurst, New Jersey, United States. The position requires U.S. citizenship for a security clearance.

Salary: $38.35–$39.35 per hour, approximately $6,136–$6,296 per month based on 160 hours.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and manual machine tools.
• Manufacture new and replacement components for mechanical equipment using metals, plastics, and other materials.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences.
• Select and install fixtures, cutters, tools, accessories, and materials while configuring feed and speed settings.
• Measure and inspect workpieces using precision instruments and adjust machine controls to maintain quality.
• Identify equipment malfunctions and support the resolution of machining and quality issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for obtaining and maintaining a security clearance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 10 or more years of CNC setup and operation experience in a machine shop or vocational training environment.
• Strong understanding of Fanuc control systems and required Mastercam experience, including programming skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints, calculate distances and angles, and use basic measuring tools.
• GD&T certification is required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around heavy machinery, noise, chemicals, and other factory hazards.

Nice to have

• Experience with CNC programming beyond the required Mastercam background.
• Experience operating both manual and CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
