Staff Engineer (Power Generation)

Location: OK Tulsa - Headquarters; hybrid work is available for most office roles.

What you will do

• Lead complex engineering initiatives involving design, construction, upgrades, performance testing, and root cause analysis.
• Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for gas turbines, reciprocating engines, rotating equipment, generator systems of 5MW or greater, and controls technology.
• Perform advanced multi-OEM analysis covering vibration, transient loading, protection systems, and overall equipment health.
• Drive reliability, performance optimization, and lifecycle improvements across power-generation assets.
• Lead technical and economic evaluations and influence project scope, design, standards, and business outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, actionable insights, and presentations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a Professional Engineer license.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in power generation, energy, or a related industry.
• Deep expertise in rotating equipment and generator systems.
• Advanced knowledge of gas turbines, reciprocating engines, generator controls, equipment diagnostics, vibration, transient response, and protection systems.
• Ability to influence technical decisions, advise leadership, work independently, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Executive Master of Business Administration.
• Experience leading large-scale projects or programs.
