TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Multiagent Simulation): Building high-fidelity multi-robot simulation environments and fleet orchestration systems with an accent on realistic physics, perception, communications, and scalable experiment tooling. Focus on designing multi-agent coordination and planning, calibrating simulation against field telemetry, and reducing the sim-to-real gap through domain randomization and automated benchmarks.

Location: Boston, MA, United States; Workplace: On-site

Salary: $125,000–$170,000 per year

Company

hirify.global develops risk-aware, reliable AI systems for robots operating in unstructured real-world environments, combining research with field deployment.

What you will do

  • Architect high-fidelity multi-robot simulation scenes with terrain, sensors, and dynamic obstacles.
  • Integrate physics, perception, and communications models for realistic fleet-scale behavior.
  • Implement and evaluate task allocation, coordination, and planning strategies for multi-robot fleets.
  • Build mission tooling, experiment infrastructure, logging, metrics, visualizations, and performance profiling for large-scale orchestration experiments.
  • Calibrate simulations against real-world telemetry and reduce the sim-to-real gap.
  • Develop domain randomization, scenario generation, regression testing, and benchmark gates for fleet orchestration releases.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience building simulation environments for robotics or autonomous systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++, with the ability to read and extend large codebases.
  • Working knowledge of robotics simulation engines such as MuJoCo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, or Genesis.
  • Experience with multi-robot or multi-agent systems, including task allocation, distributed planning, swarm coordination, or fleet management.
  • Familiarity with standard robotics middleware and the ability to translate research into practical, field-deployable systems.

Nice to have

  • Publications or open-source contributions in multi-agent systems, multi-robot planning, or fleet coordination.
  • Experience with domain randomization, synthetic data generation, or sim-to-real transfer at scale.
  • Background in distributed systems or cloud-based simulation orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience with real robot fleets in field environments such as construction, mining, logistics, or defense.

Culture & Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits and equity participation.
  • Collaboration with research and engineering teams across the United States and globally.
  • Work on AI and robotics systems designed for real-world deployment, with an emphasis on explainability and safety.
  • Inclusive workplace with equal-opportunity employment practices.
