Staff Software Engineer, Investment Performance and Analytics (Fintech)

Location: Reno, Nevada; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary: $153,000–$191,000 typical starting annual range, plus company stock plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable investment performance and analytics systems for complex investment portfolios.
• Develop reporting workflows supporting fixed income, derivatives, private equity, and other alternative investments.
• Optimize time-weighted return, internal rate of return, performance attribution, and related financial calculations.
• Build cloud-native automation and scalable solutions on AWS.
• Contribute across requirements gathering, design reviews, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and establish engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building complex analytics, reporting, or financial systems.
• Background in investment management or institutional financial technology, including portfolio analytics, risk, portfolio accounting, market data, trading, or related quantitative platforms.
• Experience with relational and analytical databases, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of investment management concepts and complex financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, or alternative investments.
• US work authorization without sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GIPS, Brinson Attribution, TWR, IRR, profit and loss analysis, and investment reporting workflows.
• Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv, or ICE.
• Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline.
• CFA, CIPM, or related industry certification.
• Experience with Kotlin or other JVM languages and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
