Senior Data Operations Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build and maintain sensor suites, camera arrays, mounting fixtures, wearable sensor stacks, annotation software, and internal data tooling.
• Write QA scripts for in-house and vendor data deliveries.
• Run motion capture, teleoperation, human-subjects data collection, and robotics or autonomous-vehicle dataset annotation.
• Manage and schedule data collection interns and contractors, overseeing throughput, quality, onboarding, and training.
• Create and maintain SOPs for data collection, annotation, informed consent, and lab operations.
• Operate robotic platforms, support technical demonstrations, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues live.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with several relevant areas, including soldering and cable assembly, motion capture, robotics or autonomous-vehicle data annotation, hardware or software QA, 3D scanning or printing, robotics, LiDAR, or AR/VR.
• Experience with Python, Java, or equivalent scripting and the Linux command line.
• Ability to work hands-on across hardware and software and independently troubleshoot open-ended technical problems.
• Strong documentation skills and the ability to improve SOPs and operational processes.
• Ability to work on-site in Boston, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with IRB procedures, informed consent, Blender, Unity, or film and television production.
• Background in film or television production, game development, data operations, or another multidisciplinary environment.
• Interest in humanoid robotics and learning from human movement.
