Sr. Backend Engineer II (Cybersecurity)

Sr. Backend Engineer II (Go/Cybersecurity): Designing and scaling foundational services that orchestrate data and execution logic across the Falcon ecosystem with an accent on high-performance distributed systems and real-time detection. Focus on building scalable microservices, managing internet-scale data streams, and implementing a Detection Content Management Platform.

Location: Hybrid in New York City, USA (office visits twice a week required)

Salary: $160,000 - $250,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of core platform services for ingesting, processing, and routing security events.
• Drive the architecture for the Detection Content Management Platform (DCMP/CMS) and develop associated CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
• Develop highly scalable and fault-tolerant microservices using Go, Kubernetes, and Flink.
• Contribute to the Unified Detections Management (UDM) system to ensure a consistent customer experience.
• Serve as a technical leader, mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional alignment on complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate strategic vision into executable technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in modern programming languages, with a strong preference for Go.
• Proven track record of delivering highly available platform services in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Extensive experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka and Flink.
• Must be based in New York City and able to work in a hybrid model (2 days/week in office).
• Experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making and streamline workflows.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity or SIEM principles and data models.
• Familiarity with low-latency, real-time event processing and pattern matching.
• Prior experience building platforms for developers or content authors in the security domain.
• Experience with query languages and runtime environments.
