Accountant, Global Accounting- Payroll Accounting

Location: Hybrid, Escazú, Costa Rica

What you will do

• Prepare complete and accurate payroll accounting activities, financial reports, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review payroll process integrity, estimation bookings, accounting records, and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare complex analyses for external accountants and corporate audits.
• Develop standard operating procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation.
• Support month-end close activities, global initiatives, transformational projects, and process improvement.
• Maintain organized accounting records, supporting documentation, work instructions, and compliance files.

Requirements

• University degree with at least 80% completion in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in a shared services center.
• Experience managing or supporting multinational accounting operations.
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize a diverse workload.
• Strong oral and written communication, client engagement, and customer relationship management skills.
• English proficiency required in verbal and written communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• CPI certification.
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems.
• Advanced Portuguese.
