Accounting Manager (U.S. GAAP & Multi-Client Accounting)

Location: Remote within LATAM, specifically Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, or Costa Rica. Working hours: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM CST.

Salary: $1,800–$4,000 USD/month, with higher compensation available for exceptional candidates.

What you will do

• Manage month-end close across multiple U.S.-based client accounts, including general ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
• Prepare and review financial statements, dashboards, and customized reports while maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Act as a client-facing accounting partner to U.S. business owners, explaining financial results, issues, trends, and recommended actions.
• Oversee payroll, employee onboarding, expense workflows, sales tax filings, and accounting compliance deadlines.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance.
• Document and standardize accounting procedures, improve close efficiency, and build scalable workflows across client engagements.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of accounting and finance experience.
• Proven experience managing accounting for multiple U.S.-based clients simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience with construction, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, home services, or related field-service businesses.
• QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise experience required.
• Excellent spoken and written English, strong client-facing communication, and the ability to explain financial concepts clearly.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines independently with strong attention to detail and organization.

Nice to have

• Experience with Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, Ramp, and Bill.com.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Data Tables, and advanced formulas.
• Long-term employment history, ideally three or more years with previous employers.
