Accounting Manager (GAAP)

Location: Remote from Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, or Brazil; U.S. business hours required

hirify.global is hiring for a client seeking an accounting professional to manage complex financial operations across multiple entities and accounts.

What you will do

• Own accurate and timely month-end close processes and prepare GAAP-aligned financial statements.
• Process payroll using Gusto or a similar platform and maintain accurate employee records.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Calculate and file U.S. state sales tax and maintain audit-ready compliance documentation.
• Build financial reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and analyze discrepancies and trends.
• Document and improve accounting workflows, controls, reporting, and close processes while coordinating with leadership and clients.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with strong accrual accounting and GAAP reporting expertise.
• Experience managing multi-entity, multi-location, or multi-segment accounting environments.
• Strong QuickBooks Online skills; QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise experience is also relevant.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, and Data Tables.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience and experience calculating and filing U.S. state sales tax.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work independently during U.S. business hours.

Nice to have

• NetSuite, Paylocity, ADP, Ramp, Bill.com, or Clockify experience.
• Background in an outsourced accounting firm or experience supporting multiple clients.
• Experience improving accounting workflows, controls, or reporting processes.
