Senior Electrical Simulation Engineer (Fusion Energy)

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the development and validation of electrical simulation models at circuit and system levels.
• Build plant-level models to assess performance, subsystem interactions, fault response, and control interactions.
• Integrate electrical models with mechanical, thermal, and controls simulations to optimize system performance.
• Develop automation scripts for repeatable simulation execution, data analysis, reporting, and workflow integration.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams on bring-up, integration, testing, and root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate simulation tools and processes, and mentor junior engineers in model validation and simulation practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience creating system-level simulations in environments such as Simulink.
• Experience with controls, power electronics, and energy delivery systems.
• Experience developing and validating circuit-level electrical models using SPICE, Simetrix/Simplis, PLECS, PSIM, or similar tools.
• Experience designing and executing experimental test campaigns to validate and refine simulation models.
• Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages, along with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
