Simulation Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Develop and own thermal, structural, and multi-body dynamics simulation capabilities for NEO and its subsystems.
• Build validated predictive models and improve their fidelity through correlation with real-world test data.
• Perform design studies, tradeoff analyses, and sensitivity investigations to support engineering decisions.
• Develop scalable simulation workflows, automation tools, templates, and engineering best practices.
• Identify design risks early and provide simulation-backed recommendations for product milestones.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, electrical, and systems engineers to reduce development risk and improve reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in thermal, structural, dynamics, or multiphysics simulation.
• Deep understanding of heat transfer, structural mechanics, materials, and system dynamics.
• Experience developing and validating simulation models against experimental test data.
• Proficiency with ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, MSC Adams, or equivalent simulation tools.
• Ability to work on-site in San Carlos, California.

Nice to have

• Experience modeling robotic, electromechanical, or actuator-driven systems.
• Experience with fatigue, vibration, durability, or reliability analyses.
• Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages for workflow automation and post-processing.
• Experience building simulation infrastructure and familiarity with manufacturing and design-for-production considerations.
