Manufacturing Leader (AI Hardware)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully on-site

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 per year, plus significant equity

What you will do

• Lead Design for Manufacturing, supplier execution, and design validation for complex mechanical components.
• Develop and qualify processes for CNC machining, die casting, sheet metal, stamping, and sub-assemblies.
• Drive supplier tooling, fixtures, automation, equipment selection, and inspection strategies for tight-tolerance components.
• Assess supplier readiness for pilot builds, production ramp, and mass production while managing risks and corrective actions.
• Own EVT, DVT, and PVT qualification builds and lead continuous improvement for cycle time, yield, cost, and process robustness.
• Use DOE, 8D, DMAIC, and fishbone analysis to resolve quality issues and translate build learnings into design and process improvements.

Requirements

• Experience supporting L6–L11 data center compute platforms, HPC systems, or complex industrial products.
• Knowledge of high-density server packaging, including airflow management, serviceability, blind-mate connectors, and rack-level integration.
• Ability to reduce costs without compromising quality or performance.
• Strong understanding of server architecture constraints, including signal and power integrity, thermal-mechanical reliability, and high-speed interfaces.
• Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership during line bring-up, pilot builds, and production ramp readiness.
