Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $146K–$205K per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Define and own acceptance testing for PCBAs, including receiving inspection, quality checks, conformal coating inspection, and functional or environmental screening.
• Translate schematics, assembly drawings, and IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 criteria into digital work instructions and manufacturing travelers.
• Specify, build, and qualify test fixtures, functional test stations, and instrumentation such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and data acquisition systems.
• Lead incoming-board nonconformance management, including containment, root cause analysis, and MRB disposition.
• Partner with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, electrical design, and systems engineering on supplier audits, corrective actions, DFM feedback, and process improvement.
• Mentor engineers and technicians on PCBA inspection and test practices as production scales.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing or test engineering experience in a PCBA or electronics production environment; 3+ years is acceptable with an advanced degree.
• Direct experience owning production or process validation testing for electronic assemblies.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship and acceptance standards.
• Experience with ICT, flying probe, functional testing, test fixtures, nonconformance management, and root cause analysis.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of PCBA or electronics manufacturing and test engineering experience.
• Experience in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability electronics manufacturing, including IPC Class 3 or the J-STD-001 Space Addendum.
• PCB contract manufacturer audits, MES/ERP systems, and configuration-controlled manufacturing records.
• Python or similar programming experience for test automation or data analysis.
• Experience scaling validation from NPI or first article through repeatable production.
