Senior Engineering Manager, Portfolio Accounting (Fintech)

Location: Reno, NV, hybrid. Must be work authorized in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead engineering teams building and scaling a fast, reliable, secure portfolio accounting engine with global market coverage.
• Apply AI tools and automation to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Own the roadmap, priorities, risks, tradeoffs, and outcomes for the Portfolio Accounting area in partnership with Product, Design, Quality Engineering, strategy, customers, and senior stakeholders.
• Guide requirements, design reviews, implementation, code reviews, architectural decisions, and post-launch optimization.
• Develop engineering managers, senior individual contributors, and emerging leaders through coaching, performance management, and talent planning.
• Improve agile and Kanban delivery practices, remove roadblocks, align dependencies across teams, and build an inclusive, high-performing organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering management or a similar leadership function, including architecture and cloud product development.
• Experience leading multiple teams or a significant functional area and delivering complex cross-team initiatives.
• Experience in Accounting, Finance, or Fintech, with the ability to translate complex domain problems into technical strategies.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, architectural patterns, and system- or platform-level technical direction.
• Experience growing engineering managers and senior individual contributors through coaching, talent planning, and performance management.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with investment management or portfolio accounting applications, especially multi-asset and multi-currency systems.
• CFA charter, progress toward the designation, or equivalent investment domain knowledge.
• Experience leading product engineering teams and partnering closely with Product and customer-facing teams.
• Experience building and operating back-end infrastructure with Docker and AWS, including cost, reliability, and performance tradeoffs.
