TL;DR
Operations Data Analyst (Wildfire Intelligence) (SQL/Python): Building operational analytics, BI dashboards, data-quality tooling, and staffing forecasts for wildfire-response review operations with an accent on production-grade SQL infrastructure, vendor performance analysis, and time-series forecasting. Focus on root-causing anomalies, integrating fire and weather datasets, modeling peak-season staffing needs, and translating complex findings for technical and operational stakeholders.

Location: US - Remote

Salary: $117K–$140K plus equity

hirify.global develops AI-powered wildfire detection and intelligence technology combining high-definition camera hardware, software, satellite imagery, and other data sources to provide real-time situational awareness for fire agencies and other customers.

What you will do

  • Own Metabase SQL, dashboards, and self-service tools used by PIC Ops employees and leadership to monitor KPIs and manage daily operations.
  • Analyze vendor and agent performance across time periods, identify trends and gaps, and investigate anomalies using a hypothesis-driven approach.
  • Monitor reporting-table data quality, maintain consistent metric definitions, and coordinate dbt or warehouse changes with the Analytics team.
  • Forecast staffing requirements using incident volume, seasonality, throughput, fire activity, weather, and other relevant external datasets.
  • Analyze headcount and coverage against demand and support peak-wildfire-season scenario planning.
  • Observe PIC Ops workflows, document findings, and translate operational insights into durable analytics tooling for technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience managing production-grade BI infrastructure with Metabase, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis; experience with time-series modeling or predictive forecasting is highly valued.
  • Ability to identify and integrate relevant third-party datasets into operational analysis.
  • Rigorous approach to data quality and metric definitions, with the ability to identify misleading or unreliable reporting.
  • Strong collaboration and written communication skills for working with central data teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a rapid-growth, high-stakes environment where data integrity is critical.
