Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: New York City, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

Develops an end-to-end autonomy software platform for unmanned systems and supports defense, robotics, and field-deployed vehicle programs.

What you will do

• Architect, build, test, and maintain software spanning frontend applications, backend services, GPU-enabled inference workloads, and edge devices.
• Improve build, release, CI/CD, configuration, and device-management workflows for deployed vehicles.
• Build web interfaces for operators and customers to manage systems, view imagery and telemetry, collect data, inspect results, and deploy mission-specific models.
• Collaborate with autonomy, perception, controls, and hardware engineers to productize new capabilities.
• Work with customers and field operators to turn operational feedback into product improvements.

Requirements

• Strong software-engineering fundamentals and production experience with Python and C++.
• Experience developing on Linux and debugging complex software and hardware systems.
• Experience with real-time or performance-sensitive systems involving concurrency, networking, video, sensor data, or robotics software.
• Ability to scope ambiguous problems independently and own solutions from prototype through deployment.
• Comfort working across a broad technical stack.
• Eligibility to work on U.S. defense programs and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, computer vision, or edge-AI systems.
• Experience with PyTorch, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, CUDA, OpenCV, or similar inference and computer-vision tools.
• Part 107 Remote Pilot certification.
• Experience with distributed systems, unreliable networks, mesh networking, or remote fleet management.
• Open-source contributions or substantial personal projects involving embedded systems, robotics, autonomy, or high-performance software.
