What you will do

• Lead firmware development for PCB bring-up, including power-on validation and peripheral testing.
• Architect and implement low-level drivers, diagnostic tools, and test utilities for new hardware platforms.
• Develop measurement, monitoring, and logging capabilities to assess hardware performance and reliability.
• Partner with the hardware team to troubleshoot component, signal-integrity, and interface issues.
• Own the creation and maintenance of test firmware, automation scripts, and engineering validation tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in root-cause analysis for hardware-firmware interaction issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience developing embedded firmware using C/C++, Python, and Bash.
• Expertise with Linux and RTOS-based systems.
• Proficiency with communication protocols including CAN, UART, I2C, SPI, and Ethernet.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debugging tools.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Redwood City, CA.

• Familiarity with system modeling, control fundamentals, or sensor integration.
