Robotics Systems Software Integration Engineer

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own the release cadence and assemble compatible, reproducible software versions across repositories.
• Define and maintain regression, stress, and endurance test plans with clear pass/fail criteria.
• Investigate robot failures using logs and code, reproduce regressions, and drive fixes through merge and retesting.
• Deploy releases to internal fleets and customer robots and communicate changes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Monitor release health in the field, deliver hotfixes, and improve test coverage.
• Partner with infrastructure, engineering, product, and quality assurance teams on release and deployment tooling.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience shipping software for robots, vehicles, or other complex hardware-software products.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ and the ability to read and debug unfamiliar large codebases.
• Experience with Git branching, merging, cherry-picking, release branch management, and continuous integration systems.
• Strong systems debugging skills, including isolating failures, reproducing issues, and identifying fixes.
• Experience defining test plans and pass/fail criteria for systems not fully covered by unit tests.
• Clear written communication and experience coordinating across teams while maintaining quality under schedule pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying software to device fleets, including staged rollouts and rollbacks.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or automated on-device testing.
• Familiarity with real-time robot software, including controls, perception, or autonomy stacks.
• Prior release engineering, quality assurance, or technical program management experience for hardware and software products.
