TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Robotics) (Humanoid Robots): Designing and delivering electrical systems for humanoid robots that power, sense, and control real-world operation with an accent on embedded electronics, power distribution, sensing, and system integration. Focus on architecting and validating hardware from schematic capture through PCB bring-up and production, improving EMI/ESD robustness, and solving complex system-level challenges across firmware, controls, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $125,100–$253,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

  • Design and release electrical subsystems that meet performance, reliability, safety, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop electrical architectures spanning power distribution, sensing, control, and embedded electronics.
  • Deliver hardware from concept and schematic capture through PCB development, bring-up, validation, and production support.
  • Improve product reliability through EMI/ESD design, validation testing, and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with firmware, controls, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to resolve system-level challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, with level determined by experience and scope of ownership.
  • Strong analog, digital, and embedded electronics design fundamentals.
  • Experience designing, reviewing, debugging, and validating hardware from schematics through PCB bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Understanding of power systems, sensors, embedded electronics, EMI/ESD, and robust hardware design practices.

Nice to have

  • Experience with motor drives, power electronics, actuator control hardware, robotic actuators, and motion control architectures.
  • Knowledge of motor technologies, encoder systems, current sensing, high-power or high-current electronics, and fault management.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing ramp and volume production.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical or fault-tolerant electronic systems, thermal design, mechanical CAD workflows, and hardware integration.
