TL;DR
Lead Production Planner (Manufacturing): Developing and maintaining master production schedules for manufacturing operations with an accent on demand planning, inventory control, and production capacity management. Focus on resolving bottlenecks, leading planning meetings, improving production processes, and coordinating materials and resources across supply chain teams.

Location: Grayling, Michigan, United States. U.S. citizenship is required; eligibility for access to classified information may also be required.

What you will do

  • Develop, review, and maintain master production schedules using forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, quality, production, and supply chain teams to ensure materials and resources support production targets.
  • Analyze demand and historical data, monitor work-in-progress and finished-goods inventory, and optimize production flow.
  • Lead daily and weekly planning meetings, communicate schedules, resolve constraints, and prioritize orders.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, support continuous improvement, and introduce improved planning processes.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes while mentoring and training junior planners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
