Backend Engineers (AI)

Location: London, UK; on-site five days a week from the Holborn office

What you will do

• Design and build platform systems in Python, including API contracts, database schemas, and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain connectors, integrations, and data pipelines for external systems.
• Build internal libraries, developer tooling, and interfaces that improve engineering productivity.
• Own projects end to end, from gathering context and managing dependencies to production delivery.
• Participate in product meetings and collaborate with engineers, AI specialists, customers, and forward deployed engineers.
• Influence technical direction by selecting tools, defining patterns, and establishing engineering conventions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience; a computer science degree is not required.
• Strong Python and/or TypeScript skills, including well-modeled, well-typed, and well-documented code.
• Experience building libraries, SDKs, or internal tooling for other developers.
• Strong database schema design and data modeling skills.
• Ability to own ambiguous problems end to end and turn them into well-scoped solutions.
• Interest in building foundational greenfield systems and working on-site in London.
