Software Engineer - Public Sector (AI)

Location: Remote; up to 20% travel required

What you will do

• Own the technical vision for complex federal and public sector data pipeline systems.
• Define architectural strategies focused on scale, performance, reliability, and security compliance.
• Write production-ready code and lead projects supporting mission-critical workloads.
• Solve data orchestration, secure data flow optimization, and AI-first infrastructure challenges.
• Align engineering, product, and go-to-market teams on compliant public sector solutions.
• Guide architectural decisions that balance innovation with risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Active SECRET clearance required; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
• 5–9 years of experience building software for US government or Department of Defense networks.
• Deep expertise in Python, distributed architectures, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience leading mission-critical technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong focus on performance, reliability, and compliant solutions.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML systems, hirify.global data, or real-time pipelines.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, IL5, or other compliance frameworks.
• Expertise with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, or scaling SaaS infrastructure.
• Startup experience and comfort working in fast-moving environments.
• Veteran or civilian agency experience.
