Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work in-person in New York or San Francisco

Salary: $150,000 – $300,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services for high-scale AI infrastructure.
• Develop tools for low-latency inference, model fine-tuning, and production sandboxes.
• Collaborate across the stack using TypeScript, Python, and ClickHouse.
• Implement observability patterns for large-scale AI workloads.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in-person in NYC or SF
• Experience building and shipping modern web applications end-to-end.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, Python, and ClickHouse.
• Deep knowledge of observability tools for large-scale workloads.
• Experience with billing/payments, B2B SaaS, or LLM/diffusion model training.
• Strong product instincts and ability to balance shipping speed with scalability.
