Control System Design Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; North West UK, with final handover in Warrington

What you will do

• Develop and review PES-based control system designs and modifications.
• Produce CE&I design documentation for complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, functional requirements, and project requirements.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and contribute from concept design through final handover.
• Participate in design reviews and technical assurance activities.
• Work with multiple engineering disciplines and support or mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience delivering PES-based control system designs on multidisciplinary projects from concept through handover.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering standards and design processes.
• Experience providing technical support during commissioning, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain or willingness to undergo security clearance and Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

Nice to have

• Experience in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, energy, utilities, or process industries.
• Strong understanding of applicable engineering standards and best practices.
