Target salary: $108,908–$131,441 annually. Full salary range: $97,642–$152,722 annually.

What you will do
- Design and develop remotely operated, automated, robotic, and tele-operated reactor servicing tools and inspection equipment.
- Prepare, check, and review engineering reports, system descriptions, specifications, drawings, calculations, and other mechanical design documents.
- Collaborate with NSSS component design, civil/structural, systems engineering, and operations teams to define interfaces, requirements, work sequences, and handling plans.
- Develop engineering standards and criteria and propose alternative methods for complex product development assignments.
- Support equipment procurement, fabrication, testing, and resolution of technical problems.
- Manage workload, schedules, deadlines, and cross-functional engineering activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; ABET accreditation preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant full-time professional experience.
- Experience designing mechanical handling equipment and systems using formal engineering design processes.
- Experience planning, preparing, and checking mechanical design documents for equipment and systems.
- Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 is required.
- Ability to travel nationally and locally and work in accordance with nuclear safety and quality requirements, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering.
- Experience working in a nuclear operating environment.
