What you will do

• Develop remotely operated and automated reactor servicing tools, inspection equipment, and control systems.
• Prepare, check, and review engineering reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and other design documentation.
• Coordinate tooling interfaces with NSSS component design and civil/structural teams.
• Work with Systems Engineering and Operations to develop handling plans, work sequences, and integrated tool designs.
• Develop engineering standards and criteria while solving complex technical problems.
• Support equipment procurement, fabrication, testing, and related engineering activities.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited four-year institution; ABET accreditation is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant full-time professional engineering experience.
• Experience designing mechanical handling equipment and systems using structured engineering design processes.
• Experience planning, preparing, and checking mechanical design documentation.
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
• Ability to understand and apply 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 quality assurance requirements.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering.
• Experience working in a nuclear operating environment.
